The IBU is the umbrella association of Buddhist Sanghas and Organisations in Ireland. We envision a fellowship of Irish Buddhists, bringing Buddhist ideas and principles into Irish society.
The inaugural meeting of the Irish Buddhist Union took place in Dublin in March 2018. At the meeting a Constitution was adopted and the IBU Board was formed.
The Board of the IBU is constituted of: IBU founding president, Rev Myozan Kodo Kilroy of Zen Buddhism Ireland; IBU secretary, Kieron Lawlor; IBU treasurer Alison Lopez, of Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin; IBU trustee Maitrikaya, of the Dublin Buddhist Centre; and IBU trustee Robert Hensey, of the Jampa Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre.
Also supporting the formation of the IBU are the Sunyata Buddhist Centre, in Co Clare, and Soka Gakkai International Ireland.
All Sanghas which are interested in joining the Union and sending along a representative to our next meeting in November 2018, please make contact for more information.
All contact should be made using the contact form below.
